Because there's only a limited amount your cells need to be fueled - after they've reached their limit, glucose stays floating in your blood until it's stored, unfortunately. CHO (Carbohydrates -- Glucose, is a Carb) is stored as glycogen in muscle and liver. There is also circulating blood glucose from your diet. These are typical storage rates. Muscle glycogen 350g Liver glycogen 80g Blood glucose 10g TOTAL 440g Then, if there's still excess sugar (which is easy to do) then, well through complicated reductive processes, the body stores sugars, as fats (basically put). There's nothing wrong with glucose itself. You'd have to do some research on refined vs. naturally occuring sugars. Simple vs. Complex sugars. Processed vs. Unfiltered. Etc. Etc. To get the whole jiff on what makes up a sugar, and why it's potentially harmful.
