I am a single female parent raising a 3 year-old. I met a guy recently and we have been spending almost every weekend together. We agreed to keep it casual at first, but how do I steer him into recognizing I want it to get serious?

Either way, your best bet is not to try to "steer him into" anything, but to communicate openly and honestly with him about how you feel. Either way, chances are he's going to resist the idea of a serious relationship. Guys who get into something "casual" generally don't want a serious relationship and often leave as soon as the subject comes up. Don't let that stop you from communicating with him openly and honestly. If he isn't interested in making a commitment, it's best to find out now and move on instead of wasting time hoping he might get serious. For future reference, this kind of "casual" arrangement generally doesn't lead to a serious relationship. If you're looking for a real relationship, don't waste time on the guys who want to keep things "casual."

if i were you, i would just let him go. seriously, waiting around wont do any good. i myself wasted 7years thinking, that this casual relationship would be serious....NOT!!!!, MOVE ON, AND FIND SOMEONE WHO IS WILLING TO START SERIOUS, AND NOT CASUAL. most likely then, can you find the right one for you. dont waste any more time. good luck.
