Disagree. People smoke cigarettes because they are addicted to the most addictive substance on this planet.
-
I disagree. When I am really hungry I cant smoke a cigarette at all. I smoke because I am addicted...yup I'm addicted I managed easily to say that out loud LoL
-
I'm going to have to disagree. I do think however that people eat when they quit smoking, because they need something to do. You know what works to stop smoking? Sunflower seeds. I think it's just the act of bring your hand to your mouth that helps out so much. Don't get me wrong though, I think nicotine is insanely addictive.
-
It's not the only reason that people smoke, but I have had food unavailable for extended periods of time, and just bummed a cigarette to tide me over for a while.

agree

I smoked cigarettes because I enjoyed smoking. It was not until I had seen several people very close to me die from smoking that I decided to give it up.It is said that the drug nicotine is as addictive if not more so then cocaine. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you do then for the sake of your loved ones and the people you care about, think about quiting.

LOL disagree

Disagree. The majority of the people who smoke cigarettes are addicted to nicotine. It probably makes them feel better about themselves temporarily and gets their minds off a problem. I could be wrong, though. After all, I've never smoked in my life.
-
I partially agree. Smoking is so addictive because it's both physically addicting ( nicotine ), and psychologically addicting. People will often smoke just after a meal because the nicotine hit is a partial substitute for eating more food.
-
no i disagree..i still eat
-
I agree... why do you think people gain weight when they quit smoking? Because they eat as a substitute for smoking.
-
Disagree I started because it got me out of the sand pit.
-
I agree and disagree. Smoking CAN be a substitute for eating, but it's not the reason people smoke. It is a reason that can lead to people becoming smokers (like models), to stay thin. There have been plenty of times I've skipped a meal and used cigarettes to hold me over.
-
Dissagree. We did a study in class today. It is a fact that MOST people start smoking because they feel pressured into doing so by a friend or other people they know.
-
Totally disagree. That may be one of the reasons they don't want to quit but not a reason for starting.
