  • I've heard that Ginseng root can help stabilize blood pressure. Supplements are available at most pharmacies. Siberian red and American White are good varieties to try. No harmful side-effects if taken in moderation.
  • The following is from The Doctors Book of Home Remdies (which I edited to keep it short and simple): 1. Drink water. Dehydration reduces blood volume which can lead to a drop in blood pressure. 2. March in place. If you have been standing or sitting for a long period of time, blood can pool up in your lower body. Get it moving again by "marching" in place. If your blood pressure drops after meals, try talking a quick walk afterwards to get it back to normal. 3. Avoid drinks with alcohol. Dilated blood vessels can lower your blood pressure. 4. Don't restrict salt in your diet unless your Doctor has advised you to do so or you absolutely need to for other reasons. 5. Try sleeping with your head slightly elevated. You should always consult your Dr. though. Better safe than sorry :) Hope this helps.
  • Low BP can be your body makeup ie some people have BP on the low side but it should not affect their daily activities unless put under stress, like exercise. So you need to take only preventive measures like appropriate salt in diet. adequate body fluids, avoiding too much dehydration. However, if it is a new symtom , and you are experiencing symptoms like fainting, darkness in front of eyes on getting up from sleeping position , then consult doctor to rule out the cause.
