Why do so many mountain bike frames display national flags as part of the labeling on the seat tube?

I've never noticed it myself I'll have to look at my bike later. It's probably just a standard thing that they started doing. Alot of people like to know where their bike is made.

It's great that cycling companies and cyclists are a patriotic lot. It's one industry where the best product is often from smaller companies.
