Why do all male Latter Day Saints wear the same kind of clothing? And why do they wear name tags?

      We don't all wear the same kind of clothing, nor do most of us wear name tags.

      You're probably thinking of missionaries.  Many Mormon men serve a two-year mission during their late teens or early twenties.  While on their mission, they usually wear suits, and the name tags you've seen.

      Those of us who aren't serving missions wear just about as wide a range of clothing as non-LDS men.

    Those are missionaries that you are describing. These missionaries serve for 18-24 months. They are to be representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ, one of the ways they do this is by their dress and appearance. The tags are part of the "uniform" if you will. "Elder" and "Sister" is title used in the LDS Church.

    They wear the same clothing so they can identify each other easily, and the name tags are so they do not forget who they are.
