That is such a great question! I think it's because a wet road is visually more appealing. It's dark, which highlights and gives contrast to a nice new car, and it's shiny, like a polished waxed floor or a nice pair of shiny men's dress shoes!! LOL. We also take comfort when we see something after a rain, be it water dripping from tree leaves and branches, a rainbow, or water gushing out of a rain gutter. But the shoes image is much more flattering. By the way, my shoes are not wet! ((((POLICE)))). :)

Because it's better when wet:)

It's the same way when pictures are taken of lovely homes . . . often they've just wet down the entire outside of the property. Everything shines and reflects from the water. That's my guess.

Because the Model (sexy woman ) like the Car ALLWAY's look better when WET. Besides the professional driver gets to do some Skid Meneuvers during the comercial!
-
I noticed that also. I will ask all my auto enthusiast friends.

according to Steve Miller "everythings better when wet"

it makes the concrete look more even and appealing, it reflects back the car and more light onto the car making things look more shiny and glossy AND it also sends consumers a subtle message that the car handles well (has AWESOME TRACTION) on wet pavement, plus it also probably makes the cool slide out at the end easier

I'm sure it's for photogenic reasons. More contrast and reflective effects make the picture more eye-appealing.

So that they can shamelessly air accident lawyer or auto insurance commercials given the extra honk or pseudo-boisterous yell perhaps in order to stress the driver out more than they need to which IMHO is unconscionable behavior and justly they could sue the provender of said commercial.
