I was at my job at a coporate hq in Rockleigh, NJ and I was going to the cafeteria to have lunch and this man Bob the maintenance guy had a television in his office and the door was open and everyone walking by got to see the Challenger exploding just a short while after it actually happened. It was a very somber lunch that day.

I was home,having lunch with my daughter who was 8 at the time. She always used to eat her lunch, while watching tv. I believe she was watching "Jem," a poplar kids show, when they broke in, and showed the diaster. It was terrible, she did'nt know what was happening, and got really scared and started crying. It was hard to explain to a child. I remember feeling numb knowing there was nothing you could do. I will never forget it!

I was at work in Albuquerque, and my two daughters were in elementary school, watching the launch - and the disaster - on TV. They were devastated.

I in college - just returned from class and all the guys on my floor were missing - weird missing - so I went down to lounge and found everyone crammed in there, silent, as they watched the TV - As I walked in, they were replaying the explosion - it had apparently happened about 10-15 min's before I got there. We sat there for a couple hours, until the very last minute before the caf closed... I suppose, then, I was walking across the quad at St. Mary's in Winona, MN.
