could be many things, depending on if there are other signs to go with the sleepy in the day time:
    sleep apnea
    narcolepsy
    Cardiovascular problems
    Diabetes

just to name a few, suggest you go to the DR and have a chat and tell them whats going on.

If you generally think you're getting a full-night's sleep, then you may have sleep apnea... Where you actually stop breathing at night, wake out of the DEEP sleep you're in enough to breathe, and fall back into the deep sleep.

Do you snore? That's another indication.

Apnea can be bad, healthwise, and I don't just mean on the job or in school when you just CAN'T stay awake.

You may also be having various other syndromes that will cause you to "wake" enough to change whatever, and fall back to the deep sleep. - Restless leg syndrome, sleep walking/eating/whatever, etc.

Ask your doctor for a referral to an eye, ear, nose, and throat doctor, and a sleep study. THAT will tell you.
