  • because the picture gives seller/buyers a good impression based on the way they are dressed.
  • I believe a psycological tool, used to leave an impression of them in your mind, anytime that real estate comes to mind. Like politicians, they want to imprint into us that they are part of the 'family'.
  • Actors do this as well - for many shows, I have seen their photos displayed in the lobby. Same for restaurants with singing waiters. Technically this is not information you need - shouldn't you be going just to see the show/eat, no matter what the actors/servers look like? There are massage therapists in my area that put their photo on their cards and in their ads. I don't care to speculate why. :o) So, at least two other professions do this. But I agree, it gives a certain impression of personableness.
  • Why do real estate agents put their pictures on their signs and business cards? In my opinion, buying and selling a home are very personal, critical and financially important transactions. Seeing a picture of the agent on a business card allows the home owner or homebuyer an opportunity to 'meet the face first.' How many times have you heard someone say, "I really don't like his/her face." Many clients will call an agent just because they like the face---it can be perceived as warm, friendly, trustworthy, etc. Or, it can be perceived as the exact opposite. Also, people tend to remember a face before they can recall a name. This type of 'in your face' marketing is very valuable to real estate agents. The more you see that face, the more likely you will remember that face when you are ready to sell or buy real estate.
  • My Husband and I are realtors. We never would put our picture on either, it just seems a bit too much ego to me. It never looks like the realtor anyway.
  • You will recognize them in public. I was at a panel discussion for a newspaper and recognized a man from his face on real estate signs.
  • MANY (not all) Realtors put their pictures on their cards. I do not put image on my business card, but I do have one on my website. In my broker's office,I'd say one out of ten has a photo on their cards -- and NO ONE has a photo on their signs. The "excuse" is that it enables the customer to maintain a personal and visual relationship with the agent. Perhaps. I prefer to rely on my distinctive voice. I have a voice (and a face) for radio. I don't need no steenkin' photos. ;-)
  • they want thier five minutes of fame, or the oppertunity for you to notice them either because they look good or bad... but either way, the photo draws your attention to them
  • Real Estate agents put their picture on their cards and signs for name and face recognition. Real Estate agents know that business cards and name riders are the cheapest forms of personal advertising available.
  • my stock broker and mortgage broker do this too. it's easier to remember them.+3
  • Many types of sales agents put their pictures on the business cards. Car sales, politicians, product vendors and such. It helps add trust to the relationship, when you can see who they are.
  • so you can see how sexy they are.
  • All of these answers touch on the reasons, and there are many, why real estate agents put their photos on their business cards. Ego probably tops the lot. Brings to mind why are obituaries loaded with pictures of dead people and why apply a picture thats 20 or 30 years old. The answer doesn't vary, the agent and the dead people looked there best at that time, ergo use the best photo.
  • Realtors have been putting their pictures on their signs and business cards in hopes of giving themselves better recognition to the general public. It has been proven to be a good way to promote themselves. The public remembers a picture better than just a name.
