WHICH EVER SIDE OF THE COURT YOUR TEAM IS SITTING ON THE BENCH IT IS THE OPPISITE AND AT HALF TIME U SWITCH
I don't know, I can't remember. Phil Jackson indicated that back when the Bulls played the Pistons in the early 90's they used to choose to have their team play in front of their bench in the second half, thinking that would make it easier for their role players to score on the road.
He wrote that the staff developed suspicions that the rims were set to different rigidities (supported by the Pistons offensive team playing during one set of quarters and their rebounders during the other, swap VJ out bring Mahorn in).
They switched out of their normal pattern, choosing to shoot in front of the Pistons' bench at the end and began to have better success (and mirrored the line-ups so they exchanged shooters and rebounders).
All of which is to say teams get to choose. But who and how? Is it a coin-flip. My story makes it sound like the visiting team chooses, but I don't know.
We need Kenny Smith.
