A few times I have allowed myself to be goaded in an unnecessary and unwanted argument, but for the most part, I simply put it out of my mind and don't dwell on it.

Taking the "high road" at every opportunity sounds a bit self-rightous. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question, but taking the low road once in a while may not only be a bit more human it may also be more humane at times. This question is probably too deep for me.

No I haven't taken the *high road* at every opportunity. I won't stay on the high road and let someone kneecap me. I'll climb down in the gutter when I need to and I'm not one bit ashamed of that. Not even a little.
