After the tragedies of Barbaro 2 years ago and Eight Belles last Saturday, I wanted to know what happens to thoroughbred race horses after they are euthanized? I heard that just the heart and hooves are buried. What happens to the body?

Ive heard that the heart and hooves are burried (Worked on a racing farm) it depends really, some horses are just sent for dog meat and others are cremated. Depends where you are really. The farm I worked at sent them for dog meat. I soon quit there.
