We can't fit 6 billion people in the forests ... not if they all want to eat bush tucker and live in bamboo tree houses.

Only if you're rich. Lower middle class and poor will have to move to outskirts of developed areas for employment freeing up the wooded areas and forests for the wealthy to build new playgrounds for themselves. So...someones future does lie in the forests. Just not the commoners.
