  • hummingbird eggs are not the size of peas they are about the size of a small marshmellow. A baby hummingbird's beak is quite small in the egg, it starts to grow longer afer it hatches.
  • I will use the ruby red throat as this is the one that is in our area, the do lay one to three white, pea-sized eggs. As with any thing they are size proportioned so their bill is very, very small and they are all curled up in the little egg. The hatchlings are born with their eyes closed.
