  • Charles Taze Russell was one of the founding members of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and an early president of the Society. Many people alive then remember him as a very kind and gentle man, devoted very much to spiritual things. He was very generous and gave up his business interests; and career, to pursue his ministry. He had a very warm personality, an incredible understanding of the Bible and was a very good public speaker. He died in 1916 and many of the "old timers" spoke very fondly of him. You are right, the Creator is the main thing. We worship God and not his creation. Almost all of those "old timers" have passed away now, faithful to the end. Charles Taze Russell is hardly ever mentioned in the Watchtower publications any more. Simply put, he was a faithful servant of God, a man that God used to make his name known. I will let someone more knowledgeable about the Mormon Church and the Catholic Church answer those parts of your question. free4life79 : I think that you do not know what you are talking about. I think that you made up that incident or got it from a very poor source. I have read secular accounts of Russell and he is always described as honest. You attack the Witnesses. Will you attck the Mormons and the Catholics also? I have seen some of your so called Bible answers. You can not represent Christ acting that way and spreading that hate. Everybody on this site can see through that act.
  • CT Russel twisted the message of the bible! He was asked before infront of a judge if he can read Greek and he said yes. He was questioned some more and in the end he admitted he did not know this language! So he lied! JW's base their teachings on a person who was a liar! I could name more but this for me is enough! "I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth." (I John 2:21)
  • I have absolutely no idea what you are writing about with respect to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (It's not the "mormon church" and never has been.) I have never heard that phrase used in any of our services or literature. You really need to stop relying on anti-Mormon propaganda for your information. It will lead you into such stupidity every time.
