  • Not too sure about Indiana, but it most definitely is in California. You have to take it to a recycling/disposal plant.
  • yes, it's illegal in all 50 states. i worked in the refuse industry for seven years and i'm positive on this fact. if the carrier gets caught dumping hazardous materials (that would be considered one) in the landfill they can be fined and if they get fined and know where it came from they will come after him. i always pulled paint, oil, and chemicals of many kinds out of the trash and left them curbside. i wasn't getting fined! ;)
