No, I find it extremely useful. Communicating through writing, where facial expression and tone of voice are absent, makes it handy to have these little abbreviations that help convey meanings that otherwise could be misconstrued, i.e. taken seriously when meant as a joke. lol
I hate all those abbreviations. They are used so often they do not seem sincere. I cannot bring myself to use them. I will stick with the old fashion, HEEE or HAAAA.
