  • The original muscle cars were simply mid-sized cars that Detroit automakers shoe-horned big engines into. The extra front end weight made them (for the most part) handle like crap, and braking was pathetic, but DAMN were they fast!!!! The new "super cars" or as coined by "Wrecks to Riches" builder Barry White, "Super Muscle Cars" offer the classic styling of the old rides, and the big motors, but also takes advantage of modern technologies, such as 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, computerized engine control, , steering and shifting, etc. Thus giving you a classic muscle car with all the driveability of today's modern sports cars. Hope this helped.
