Quebec. The battle was fought on the Plains of Abraham. General James Wolfe's scouts found a way up a cliff to what the French had thought was impenetrable Quebec. This (along with General Amhert's subsequent capture of Montreal) was the battle that convinced the French that the war was lost. The capture of Fort Carillion (later renamed Ticonderoga) preceded this by around a year. While it was significant, it was not THE decisive battle.
