  • Hopefully not, how many people went to a church where the priest molested children. They must be pro child molestation. That's the mentality that the media and the neocons are trying to create.
  • No I didn't. I think it would be a shame to blame him for something he had no control over. I went to church for years with a pastor that I didn't agree with, that does not mean I changed my way of thinking. You are never going to agree with someone 100% of the time, so you pick your battles. Also after this came out, Obama let everyone know that he did not know of this and did not agree with what he said. I couldn't tell you what my pastor said 20 years ago, I wan't even old enough to care. So it would be a pity for ppl to turn on him because of this. Furthermore everyone wants to talk about seperation between church and state, here is a perfect oppurtunity for those ppl to practice what they preach!!!
  • No ..I don't vote "For" someone because of anyone else and I don't vote "Against" someone because of anyone else..I listen to what the candidate has to say..I ignore the spin, the lies, the nuanced slurs, the vindictive "clever" little digs..to the extent that the person follows through when he/she has the power to do so, it is to that extent that the person will be judged honorable, decent and trusthworthy. If you listen to others, you are absorbing their prejudices, their mindsets and their agendas..why would you allow yourself to be brainwashed like that? :(
  • CHECKLIST TO BECOME PRESIDENT OF THE USA: - Must be at least age 35 - Be a rich, male WASP - Have a clean medical history or preemptively "clean" your medical history - Have a clean police record or preemptively "clean" your police record - Run background checks on all business associates, colleagues, classmates and clergy ever associated with you. - Friends/Family must agree with you about everything. I mean EVERYTHING. - Put friends/family in stasis during campaign so they won't do/say anything stupid - Hire political hitmen to dig up dirt on your opponent - Call up favors from political connections - When not on campaign trail, put political connections in stasis so they won't do/say anything stupid - Run a background check on all people who have ever shaken the candidate's hand - Create realistically unattainable campaign promises and deceptively uncomplicated speeches and plans that will outline policy making as president, prey on uneducated, dispassionate and elderly voters with these - For political expediency, disown friends/family that conflict with any iota of your views or strategy - Throw a token adviser under the bus every time you screw up - Divert the spotlight to dirt on your opponent every time you screw up - Master the non-apology apology - Blame the media, the government and the other candidate when you are losing - Realize the law of political attribution: If A is supported by B and B says C, then A says C. This applies no matter the level of support, from anonymous commenter on the candidate's website to the candidate's spouse. - Save the biggest dirt on your opponent for within two weeks of the election. - When accepting the concession of your opponent, throw praise on your opponent despite insulting your opponent's intelligence, patriotism, experience, fidelity, parenthood, friends and honesty in the last 24 hours alone. - After accepting the office, first do everything you can to kick lucrative government contracts and appointments to your top donors and supporters before even thinking about campaign promises. - Do some token effort toward campaign promises in the year prior to reelection. - Spend your entire second term doling out the goodies to your pals. Personally, I could care less who Barack Obama's pastor is. He is not Barack Obama and he cannot speak for Barack Obama. If you want to judge Barack Obama for his pastor then you must judge yourself for all of the crazy ideas a couple of your friends, family or acquaintances undoubtedly have. Barack Obama brings a sense that this style of politics needs to change. We need to start working together instead of succumbing to these pitfalls of sensationalist journalism and smear campaigns that only cause people to lose trust in their government.
