  • get some muscle buliding supplements for instance , creatine check it out here > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Createin#Creatine_and_athletic_performance , i have used it before and the results will show within about 2 or 3 weeks , another way to strenten your abs aswell is , when your doing your push ups , place a heavy enough weight behind your head when your doing them , you will not get very many anyway but its a brilliant way to make them harder . good luck on your black belt !! ....dave
  • There is a technique i just learned about the other day. Supposedly it should make you stronger and faster. It's called the panther walk. You go down in push up position, then once you are there, hop either to the left, right, front, or backwards while still maintaining that position. Once you have hoped in one direction for about 15 feet, go the other direction. I hope this helps! be strong through your graduation!
  • if your at the point where you are physically ready for black belt testing i bet you CAN do the push-ups. try something simple at first, count your pushups in groups of ten. 1 2 3 4...10 10 9 8 7...1 sometimes its just your mind. although without knowing you i may be horribly mistaken. Good Luck
  • each night do as much push ups as you can then try to do 10 more. I made progress from 17 to 44 within 3 nights.
  • Try doing handstand pushups or try incorporating weights into your push up training. I'm still trying to break into a 100 pushups a minute I think the highest I ever got was 83.
  • Work out your triceps, biceps, trapezoids, deltoids, laterals, as well as chest muscles. Also another technique of doing more push ups is that the wider you put you feet apart the more easier push ups become. Try it, and hit me back up!
  • I was a Fourth Dan (Judo). Why worry about push ups, concentrate on speed and agility,I can't understand why you have to do push ups for your blackbelt, grading was always done on fighting technique (well it was in my time) and if your not fit, well you don't go up in grades as you will be beaten by a fitter opponent. Some guys go the wrong way and get themselves all pumped up because it looks good, but they fall that much harder and are not so agile. Maybe your trainer doesn't think your fit enough, so the press ups are a part of his training technique. You don't have to do three hundred push ups to get a Black Belt, just go out there and Win the competition.....Ippon!! BTW theres nothing wrong with being able to do 300 push ups.
  • For all you cheaters looking for a quick fix, the answer is to drink some water and baking soda shortly before. The muscle pain from exhaustion is from the build up of lactic acid (a waste by product of muscles burning sugar and oxygen to do the work) and the baking soda will neutralize the acid in the blood ... allowing you to do a bit more before you finally begin to feel the burning muscle cramps. You may even rub some baking soda onto and into your skin, it relieves the burning cramp ... This is of course the wrong way to go!!! Proper breathing and breath control meditations will take longer to develop, but will help you much more in the long run by vastly increasing your endurance ... and combining this with the simple concept of "pulse moves" where you listen to and feel your heart beat and then do one pushup for every pulse (dropping as the heart takes in blood for the 3 lesser phases of the pulse and pushing up as the heart pulses the freshly oxygenated blood to the whole body), while concentrating on speeding up your heart rate and breathing in and out very deeply and fairly quickly but in short pulsing sips timed in unison to your pulse timed pushups. When you become comfortable with this method and timing, begin to go at a double time rate and do two full push ups per pulse ... that should get you well over the required speed of 300 per 3 minutes. ... that and practice, practice, practice ... ... you can also put on a heavily weighted back pack and do a few push ups in extreme slow motion ... try one per minute, taking a full 30 seconds to drop down and another full 30 seconds to push back up ... try 10 to 20 of those as a weight lifting and muscle building exercise set.
  • Just work on doing a few more each night. It really isn't that hard to do 300 push ups in 3 minutes if you have been training as much as you should for your black belt. Try lifting weights if you aren't already and make sure you are practicing your push ups multiple times a week.
