People get respect when they don't think about whether they should get it or not. Being a nice guy is being a decent human. It's not something you'd need medal or a ticker tape parade for!

Perhaps in the next jump in human evolution.

They DO see it. That's jealously laughing from both sides... shame on them.

They don't. Not from other guys. Hopefully you'll give him enough respect. And I'd assume your girl friends will start to wonder sometime between mister right # 4 and mister right # 47 what, exactly, has been the failure in their past relationships.

I went through the same thing in high school. My nice guy was in college and not well accepted by my high school friends at first. The guys looked on him as competition and the girls were just indifferent because he wasn't part of the normal school crowd. They all referred to him as "the old guy" (he was 19). What can I say? It took a while for them to mature and accept our relationship. Years later when I was married and happy and they were still single or divorced, I think they figured out I was the lucky one. All that matters is that you are happy.

That depends. They could: A) Get used to the way he is and calm down over it. B) Continue to laugh at him. C) He'll do something for them and it'll sink in. D) Fight. -One of my friends is very different from the rest of the guys, and they made fun of him and tried to change him for a while, but then they got used to him. -Once in a while, guys just meet other guys that they don't "fit in with". But it will eventually pass. -Sometimes, if a guy helps out the others, they suddenly see him in a new light. Its relatively rare, but it does happen. -My second oldest brother had problems with a group of guys (I don't remember what it was over) and one day they just let fists fly. A few days later, they were like best friends.
