  • i guess your mad at God, and if you dont believe in him then i dont know why you would say it:) its one of my least favorite words or phrases.
  • it means that you are asking god to damn something. in other terms, to send it to hell or eternally curse it.
  • wow your making my brain work today, i had to mow the lawn just to to think about it! But no i dont associate God with a Him or Her. God to me is a much higher spirtual power. And yes i feel like i have a personal relationship with God. I speak to God all day, God why are these kids driving me nuts? God thank you? God are you serious? If to another person they use the name Buddha or Jack thats their belief, and if that gets them through life then whatever you got to do. i have alot of friends who dont believe theres a higher power at all, and if thats what they choose have at it. And if you probaly knew me when it comes to the computer i am illiterate, just learning. So i have no clue what your talking about there.:)
  • There is God damn and there is goddamn.I think the two are not the same. God damn is asking god to damn a person, place, thing, etc. Goddamn to me is used to place emphasis on something both good and bad or otherwise. When people hear it they usually think of God damn. Its not the damn part but the God part that seems to offend people. But I find alot of people will become offended by it but will use just plain God,God Almighty,or other such words and think nothing about it. Such as My God. Then there are the Gal Darn types. They think thats a wholesome way of swearing.I dont see the difference. When I use it, its goddamn, small g.People get offended at times but that is their problem.I think goddamn small g is not refering to Diety. I dont use it as such.
  • It is my belief that damning someone or something, even goddamning it or them is to stop it or them in thier progress eternally.
  • well damn is a word to exspress feeling like An expression of anger, frustration, or surprise...and to swear. Damnation" (or, more commonly, "damn", or "goddamn") is widely used as a moderate profanity, which originated as such from the concept of ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God damnIn some forms of Western Christian belief, damnation to hell is what humanity deserves for its sins, and only by the grace of God can one atone for their sins and escape damnation. One conception is of eternal suffering and denial of entrance to heaven, often described in the Bible as burning in fire. Another conception, derived from the scripture about Gehenna is simply that people will be discarded (burned), as being unworthy of preservation by their gods. In Eastern Christian traditions (Eastern Orthodoxy and Oriental Orthodoxy), as well as some Western traditions, it is seen as a state of separation from God, a state into which all humans are born but against which Christ is the Mediator and "Great Physician". The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sees damnation as a halt in progress rather than an eternal suffering. It is likened to a dam in a river that prevents the river from flowing as it normally would. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damnation
