My daughter came home with an agenda book every day, the work that was due needed to be written in the book, the child received a percent of the grade for that quarter if the home work due was listed in it. My job as a parent was to check it daily when she came home from school, last year she was a freshman in high school and they still carried this policy, it works very, very well. Our school also has a home work hot line, all teacher are to list home work on it, regardless if there is home work or not, all you have to do is call in. You also need to instill in your child that they are there to get an education, to learn what they need to move on with there life, not to date and hang out. It has worked for me so far.

A friend of mine has study time for her kids whether they have homework or not. If they say their is nothing to to then she gives them activites like assigned reading or some math questions.

Yes, my daughters school uses SchoolNotes.com and you can sign up for e-mails to let you know when their webpage is updated. Of course it only works if the teacher keeps it updated-her teacher from last year never did update it but her teachers are updating it this year. God Bless, sleeppro

Yep, we use Blackboard. It's more for the kids' benefit though.
