  • as long as you don't have AIDS
  • We would need to know a bit more about you before we can say. The general requirments for a blood donar are: 1. You must be 17 years of age or more. 2. You must weight at least 110 pounds. 3. You must be healthy. These are the basic requirements. For more details, see http://www.redcross.org/services/biomed/0,1082,0_557_,00.html
  • Well, before you give blood they will ask you a series of questions regarding if you have recently or ever traveled outside the country, if you have any diseases, if you do drugs, etc...questions such as though....either they will allow you to give blood or they won't. Good Luck!
  • The easiest way is to visit a blood donor clinic. They will ask many questions, some of them very personal, and take a sample of your blood. If you can give blood then they will let you know.
  • Weight, age, current medications, and health are all things that could make it so you can't. Depending on what service you are donating to (there are many other than the Red Cross and some of them have different requirements) you may be turned away for traveling to certain areas after a certain time or before a certain time or spending over a certain amount of cumulative time there.
