Yes, Steve Irwin, the Australian crocodile hunter, he was filming a show and was stung by a stingray. Yes it is I'm afraid. He died in a freak-accident. He was stung by a sting ray. Now normally you would only be injured by it but the stinger pierced him in the heart. The Prime Minister of Australia even said that the loss of the Crocodile Hunter was tragic.

believe it or not i had just had my shower this morning when my husband peeked in said guess what the crocodile hunter died!my 1st ? may he rest in peace and we all know he went doing what he loved.god bless his family.

Actually the stingray barb pierced his heart, and that is why they couldn't save him. It is very rare to die from sting rays, and only one other person in Australia is recorded to of been killed by a sting ray. They are relatively harmless unless provoked

yeah, he did. Everyone here in australia was in shock cause he seemed invincible. He was filming something for his daughter bindi's show & he was stung by a stingray in the chest & had a heart attack. he was an absolute legend.
