Why do you think so many people died in a tornado in Myanmar, but in the US, when we have a tornado, not that many people die?

Most people in Myanmar live in shacks, so a tornado would easily destroy them in seconds. Also, its extremely overcrowded in the area where the storm hit, hence the higher death toll.

Cyclones are more like hurricanes than tornadoes. When you have a strong hurricane hit a bunch of thatch huts, you've going to have people die. A lot of people live in these types of homes.
