Yes, to have spent your life wrestling with crocodiles and venomous snakes and then be killed by a stingray (which have only ever killed 3 people in Australia) must be percieved as slightly ironic. It is also incredibly sad especially since he has a young family.

So sad! God bless that cross between a loony tune and a cheeseburger, he was a good man. nuts, but good! very brave!

No, not really. he has taken so many chances with animals, that it was bound to happen sooner or later. My wife and i have watched just about every show of his, his wife and baby. it has really sadden us, that this has occured. It just goes to show you, that no one is immune from death, when your number is called. be ready.

I don't know if it's ironic, but it's very sad. A lot of people will miss him.

He took so many risks during his career..not saying he had it coming to him, but really, anyone could've guessed that someday he'd be killed or seriously injured with his line of work. It's very sad though. Especially since his poor children are so young. He'll definately be missed by many-including myself!

There are about half a million ironies surrounding Stevo's death. 1. The fact that Steve and Stainton were discussing stingrays the day before, and that they weren't deadly, 2. He told his daughter "Don't get hurt like Daddy" a few months before 3. He wasn't killed by a venomous snake, but a stingray... Not even a shark... that's ironic... He died too young. :( Tragic really... But at least he died happily. He'll certainly be missed.

He wasn't crazy, he knew exactly what he was doing. Insane circumstances though...
