  • Yes it can, because the tension and stress on muscles in one area causes them to be the same in others. Often when someone is complaining about upper back pain it is often in the front of the chest or shoulders. One thing that works very well for TMJ is Myofascial Release Therapy. If you suffer from it, I'd look around and find a massage therapist who practices MRT as they might be able to help you:-)
  • I am not sure about the back pain but I have a very old and dear friend that hs TMJ and she has a lot of neck pain...also she ended up with Minears as a result of it and sometimes is off her feet with dizziness for a month at a time as a result! She has tried everything for this. She has even spent time at the Mayo Clinic with no luck...just a little relief!!
  • Yes it can. I would look into some treatment for it. Save yourself a good deal of pain.
  • Hi. Yes I have read it can, and I believe it does mine. The trick is to keep your jaw muscles as relaxed as possible. Try to find some exercises for it. I read, act like you are chewing a piece of gum, for several minuets a day. I have started doing it after my last bad flare up of it.... Best luck, God bless. I know it can be misserable sometimes. :)
