Can brown suede be re-dyed black or dark blue without damage? How or where would I get this done?

I know larger dry cleaning stores who offer this service. They are reluctant to guarantee the results however. Too many variables with age,quality, condition of the suede. But I think it's just professional caution as well. A far smaller job I know, but I have successfully dyed suede boots at home in the past. If you are able to get it done, ensure you treat it with waterproof/stain proof suede spray afterwards. And then periodically give it a spray over.
