I'm not sure what age you are allowed to get a work permit, California it is 15 1/2. Texas may be different.. You can always do the mowing lawns, babysitting, work on corners selling flowers etc...

I know that the city parks department in my city employs teenagers as lifegaurds for the city pools, so maybe you could check with you're local city parks department around the begining of summer. It's a relativly easy job assumeing you can swim.

Because of the lack of labor available, a number of states have relaxed their laws and allowed youths under age 16 to work part time with some restrictions. Check your state or local governments department of labor for the details. I know that in the US, many youths under the age of 16 have found work this way at fast food restaurants. As mentioned, mowing lawns and simple landscaping is a fine way to "start your own business". Girls can baby sit. How about cleaning house for busy people, or walking their dogs ( this is very big in the cities).

At a store such as Costco, but I would'nt recommend this because you won't get much and some people are rude there. One time at Home Depotthere was a person screaming at a lady, "Hurry up! You work too slow!" But, I would recommend teaching music, just post a paper in your community about that with your phone number and you can teach music 25 dollars per hour. Or you can post a paper about pet sitting or baby sitting. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

A lot of schools will give work permits. This allows people at the age of 15 to get a job but they are limited to about 20 hours a week I believe.

I hate to sound like a stick in the tar, but i was just there. between 15 and 17 are the hardest times. you need money, but there are very few good jobs for minors. Sure, if you know music, then your in luck, and should be able to teach it. If your students' parents want to leave them with you. It is an awful world for the mid-teens, and im afraid your most likely bet is just to simply do what everyone else has done and bus tables or work a cashier at some cheap-o fast food joint.

Chik-fil-A will hire people starting at age 15.

If you are in need of work at the age of 15, then your parents are not doing there job, consider emancipation, and mention that in your interviews. When you get your job go for it, even if you still live with your parents.
