Mosquitoes are attracted to scents. Hair spray, cologne, or even just body odors (not necessarily bad ones). I have also heard that mosquitoes do not like certain blood types, and that RH negative blood types do not get biten as often. I have RH negative blood, and I rarely get bitten by any insects.

mosquitoes are attracted to people who breathe a lot (well.. everyone breathes.. but im talking about how much carbon dioxide your exhalling) i heard mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide (i heard it also comes out of pours in your body.. i should do some research) so if you run, your going to attract a lot more mosquitoes then someone who's walking beside you.. but lets say you want to get rid of them?.. start smoking. the smoke from the cig's cover the scent of carbon dioxide (well ofcourse..) and about Peter B's comment on sweet tooth? i can vouch for that.. The mosquitoes can "smell" it.. BIG tip.. DON'T EAT BANANAS.

I'm not so sure about the blood type. My daughter(2yrs old) and I are both RH negative and I hardly ever get bitten and she gets bitten the second she goes out the front door. I would love to get to the bottom of this or at least find a way to prevent all the bites she gets. I put bug spray on her, but those pesky insects find a spot with no repellant (i.e. her face, hands, etc.)
