My sister and I have an okay relationship but it seems like every time I play or joke around with her she takes it seriously. She takes offense to everything (personal or not) and just can't take a joke. She's so uptight. How can I get her to lighten up?

• fun with u is play fighting at 28? and it makes her a prune ? play fighting and picking is not adult behavior or fun ...what is fun to her, it may be craft shows, and swimming,....what is fun to u? wrestling matches,car races....do things with each other that are fun to other and u will grow closer....she may be a prune to u , but u are probably a 28 yr. old "child" to her....she can't help but laugh at u, she loves u...even though!!!:)

• Maybe she has some kind of deep seeded childhood animosity towards you that you can't even remember because you were so young when whatever it is happened.

• You know, my boyfriend said something similar to that. Don't think it's all from childhood though. I think it may be from the present as well. I can think of a few reasons why maybe but nothing that was done to intentionally hurt her or to make her react towards me in this way. It may be her own personal issues that she's fighting and she uses me as the punching bag. Great insight. Thank you.

  Listen, from a man who has plenty of experience dealing with siblings: 2 sisters, 5 female first cousins, and 1 male first cousin.... People are who they are. My closest cousin (who is like a best friend to me) doesn't take well to joking. She does it every now and then, but overall, she is not a very humorous person. She takes offense to many things that I would think shouldn't be taken offense to, BUT, that's just who she is, and the once I learned to deal with that, we maximized our closeness. Some people can't be who you want them to be, and especially cuz she's your sister, you should understand, and accept her the way she is. Give me another negative mark if you must, but that'll just show that you weren't ready for a truly insightful answer. Good luck.

• I'm not sure where you're going with that, if it was meant to be negative or positive.... I do know that all I can give is what I know, and my first post on this was not meant to be anal or sarcastic. It was just blunt and as to the point as I could put it. Absolutely nothing negative about it. It's advice, take it or leave it. If you're calling me a dick, you'd be one of the very few people ever to have done so in my life.
