Are women stronger than men? Or do women need men to live? My friend and i were having a debate over this the other night. He says men are stronger, and women are weak, but I disagree. What are some thoughts?

Men and women have different areas of strength but most people can compensate in their weak areas when forced to. Men and women are likely to be more alike than dissimilar. It's clear there are two sexes for a reason and a partnership between men and women seems a perfect use of the different areas of strength but not necessary for either sex to live well and prosper.

I think both genders need each other. In a lot of ways women are the stronger sex because they are more in touch with their emotions, tend to go to the doctor more, and are what holds families together. Men tend to have an advantage in terms of physical strength, but some women are stronger than men, just like some men are better are better at raising kids though it goes against the male-female sex role/stereotypes. As a male, I will put it this way. After I saw the birth of my child and what women go through, I would never claim I was the stronger gender lol

Men are physically stronger, however, women can use tears and sex to get pretty much whatever they want out of men. We all have our unique strengths and weaknesess.

What is strong is highly debateable. Often woman have more political influence then men that makes them strong in a different way. For the physical aspect of this question do women need men? How can it be awnsered with 100% accuracy? Take a woman put her on an island alone and see what happens? It will never be done. Even if you put a man on one island and a woman on another alone it is probable that both have great chances at survival. There is a Chinese saying rigid things can be snapped. So there is strength and benifit in flexability. Power may not be as important as what you "do" with what you have got.

First, I'd have to ask: Stronger at WHAT? If you're referring to physical strength--I'd say, generally speaking, a MAN is probably stronger. Of course, as always, there are exceptions. If you're referring to enduring the mind-melting, gut-wrenching, cause-the-eardrums-to-bleed, drivel that spews forth from the OPRAH WINFREY show--I'd DEFINITELY say that WOMEN are stronger!!!

Men and women bring different things to the table, to the bed, to the nursery and to the work place. We aren't identical things, though of course much of what we are good at overlaps - we're all humans after all. I believe that most women and most men need each other to live. Some clearly don't, gays and asexual people for example, but they live in a richer world in any case.
