  • That statute can't apply on private property.
  • Not in most jurisdictions, unless the private property owner, in writing, asks that traffic laws be enforced on his property. Most officers can only issue reckless driving citations on private property.
  • Knowing what you were trying to protest would be more helpful. If you were drag racing in a parking garage, for instance, they will get you.
  • When it comes to public safety either on private property or public, I am sure the police can act upon a violation that puts the people at risk.
  • This offers some "Latitude", but if Ur ONLY ACT was lets say "Backing Up" in a "Normal & Customary Fashion", & someone else "Cut U Off" in an "Unusual & Rude Fashion" to "Secure a Parking Spot" for themselves & lets say, and an "Accident Occurred", it would be their "Fault" whether or not it was on Private land. Now, if an "Officer" has the right of "Intervention" in said "Incident". Only if they Personally saw a "Law" being "Broken", or "About to be Broken" or "Continuing Physical Damage" were to "Continue" with out their "Direct Intervention"!!! So, "Accident" has no "Injuries, is all over, no 'Tempers Flaring' & no Harm/Foul", is the Officer "Bound" to "Investigate & Issue Citations" when there are No Witnesses (even Cops)& on "Private Property??? No!!! Can U get it thrown out over this??? Probably NOT, but USE it to Ur Advantage!!! Prove through "Their Stats" Exactly what happened. Find out what the guy who hit U was doing there. Where was he going in such a rush? Why didn't he see Ur Florescent Orange Car??? Do U Work with them??? Do they go out after work for friendly "Libations" EVERY NIGHT???
  • It depends on how private the parking is. Is this an area in the woods behind a graveyard of old hoopties resting on cinder blocks or was this an area that invites any and all public traffic and parking for free or otherwise? Basically, any property that is not your own, is subject to this law. Not to say that in the right(?) circumstances you could not be ticketed on your own property.
