la senza, la senza plus, size XL will generally do it. i fit into a size M thong perfectly when I was a size 10. Large would be about size 12-14.. try the XL and general stores, tell her to try it on over her underwear and there should be no problems with store clerks telling her she can't, or just get one on sale, take it home and try it. there's always ebay, plus sized stores, etc.

There is a GREAT online store called biggalslingerie.com (I'm about a 16/18 too) and have bought stuff from this store. Great customer service (the owner is a plus sized woman herself). Very very sexy clothes. I have never seen a store with such sexy variety for plus sized women. Everything from shoes, underwear, swimwear, to fetish items like leather/pvc, corsets, etc. Tell her to check it out :) It's worth the money. size 16 is not big . your wife obvious has curves hips and an ass marilyn monroe was a sex icon and she was a size 14 or 16 .
