Considering the price of oil and gasoline why is the U.S. not allowing drilling off the coast of California and Florida?

it could pollute the environment too much. I also believe california has some type of law for environmental health that may prevent that. Also there is the fear of eventually running out, so the govt. tries to get the public to start changing their habbits and are not quick to offer fixes which would just delay the inevitable.

well wed only get 6 months of oil i guess and that part of the earth would be gone. see the problem is big oil made 11 billion just in the first QUATER OF THIS YEAR... AND thats ONE COMPANY... they would just get even richer, they still would't lower oil or gas even a penny for us.. thats pretty much why... i dont think some old guy should have 100 billion with a B a year when im choosin between food and gas... uhh balance anywere??? call your congresssman and tell his ass to VOTE THAT CRAP AWAY. it sould be and WAS illegal. it's called a fair marketplace, and it's being burned at the stake... and me and you pay for it. also our tax money is paying for the war THATS GETTING US HALF OUR OIL ANYWAYS...THEN we pay out the ass for it...well again i guess...fair, huh? republic means we elect them and they RUN US HOWEVER THEY SEE FIT...it's in star wars, and the dictionary if you want. a democracy is everyone has equal say.. were more of a republic right now, im voting D E M O C R A T E.... later bro hope you get what i mean. worthy question, hope i helped..
