Question

Help answer this question below.

I embrace no religion, but if it's true we all came from one and the same GOD, what then are we fighting about? And could we ever find a middle ground to reconcile whatever it is we're fighting about?

The only ones fighting are the ones who say that "It has to be my way." I don't have truck with any religion, either, but the ones who do don't bother me -- as long as they're not in my face about that. I even have friends who are very firmly convinced that their religion IS correct ... and we agree to peaceably disagree about that. (I also have friends who are Yankees fans, and as long as they're not militant about that, I think it's okay ... no matter how wrong they are.)

The middle ground is easy: Live and let live. Unfortunately for some that does not appear to be an option.

Because it goes so far back, no one really knows the truth. Finding a common ground is hard when the truth is unknown.

Of course, there is scientific proof that we are creations of science rather than religion. However those who spit in the face of science obviously won't want to see that nor understand it. Sure, there could be a middle ground between creation and evolution...but until people care enough to look outside the box and actually consider it, there will be blood.

Religion has the ability to create hate under the guise of unity. If you are not a member of a particular religion, then you are damned to the punishment. People outside of the religion are simultaneously ostracized for different beliefs and pitied. This kind of thinking encourages people to find differences among themselves instead of focusing on the similarities. The most common, ignorance and a fear of death.

No, I doubt it, sadly. You see, you have to find truth, and truth cannot be two entirely different things.

It is a matter of perception.
Quite a few religions have the main pint that things are one specific way and no other.
And if one does not live by that path then one will be left out of the 'miraculous gift' to be had by following it.

And when you have multiple streams of thought like this, of course conflict will come when people compare those ideas.

I can see common threads in all religions and I am sure there are many others who can as well.
Until people focus on those the fighting will continue.

Personally i choose no religion because I do not trust the fact that I an others have so many problems on earth but after death or after a certain period there will be no more problems.
Seems like a sleight of hand to me.
