  • You don't. you take it to someone who knows what they're doing, like circuit city or a computer man.
  • Its not too rare for an SD reader to go out but the first step is to check your device manager and see it its showing up. I can guide you to the device manager but i cant help you narrow down the actual device because it varies between SD readers. To get to device manager, right click on my computer, click on manage, then click on device manager. If you do find the device but its erroring, try re-installing it. If you cant find it, try the reader on another computer. If it doesn't work, its fried so get a new one. If its build into the computer, you can take it back to the place you bought it if your still under a manufacturers warranty or service plan and they can take care of it. If all else fails, take it to a computer shop preferably Best Buys Geek Squad. They're A LOT better then the firedog agents at Circuit City so don't listen to what the last poster said.
