Why of course it's possible, in fact they are probably the best companion for such a setting, as they dont have to make one stop to potty, they adjust to conditions excellently, and are of a perfect size. As to some comments I have read, be it known that roaming and not a good environment, well it sounds more conjecture than knowledge, especially if saying a dog would be better suited.

Cats only move when they have to, and that goes all the way up to the giant cats, like Lions. their physical make-up and metabolism is based upon a life spent 75% rest and sleep, and is such for the need to have the bursts of speed and energy to run down prey, they then eat, clean, and back to rest. Cats will roam, and be content in the spaces provided, as long as it isn’t a box, and that it allows multiple places to find a comfortable place to lay, and be sure to include a couple that are obscure, as cats like to have a den by nature. Play is important, so have some toys that you can interact with, as well as use for exercise. As most cat owners are aware, when a cat plays with a toy, even in a big house, it usually is with-in a 5 foot area or less.

I myself live in a Toyota Mini-Home with my cat as we travel across the country and never has he been an issue, except those of love, and companionship.

Sure, why not? Are you looking for some statistical data? I doubt you'll find any.

There may be reasons that you can think of where it would not be ejoyable living with pets in an RV but it sure seems possible and plausible.

If you've ever been camping and see people with RV's, they sometimes have their pets with them. Granted, they may not be full time RV live-ins, but I have seen a few older folks who travel all over the country full time and they have a pet, sometimes a cat that lays right on the dash board, and it seem 'normal.'

If you're asking because you just met some guy and found out that he lives in an RV full time with his cat fluffy-- RUN!

Find someone who lives full time in a mansion with his pet doberman.

I know a guy who has 4 dogs (Shepherds) and they are very strange. But they seem to like it.

I say yes, especially depending on the cat and how well he travels. One consideration is the litter box. I invested in an expensive deluxe motorized littermaid. It does the work for you and really cuts down on any odors.

    My .02 cents, Happy travels!

I am the manager of an RV park. Many RVers have dogs and some even have cats. I currently live in an RV and have a small dog.

I even know of one couple who has a special airconditioned and heated trailer they carry their two St. Benards in! It is a very fancy dog house on wheels!

RV is another one of those expressions that obviously means different things in different parts of the world. In an earlier part of my life RV was radio shorthand for RendezVous and your meaning is obviously different because you couldn't live in a meeting between two people.

Isn't it funny how American is so much different to English?

Yes, it is very possible, though I have a few suggestions to assist with comfortable living conditions as I have a dog and a cat.

1)First and foremost, buy a litter box with not only a cover, but a swinging door! Trust me it helps with the immediate smell while in use and just after!

2)Clean the litter box daily!!! You dont have to empty and wash it daily, but be sure and scoop out all clumped matter and dispose of it.

3)For dogs and cats, keep a brush and spend a few minutes with your pet(s) each day grooming them to remove loose hair and fur. This not only prevent the shedding problem from getting out of hand, but also, in the case of cats, prevents dander problems attacking your sinus'.

Now, in the case of dogs you plan on allowing to live outside part time, please remember, dogs sweat just as we do and will need bathing every couple of days to keep odors from accumulating inside.

I had the pleasure of meeting a great "traveller" Gibbie who had one big horse, one shelty pony, 3 dogs and at least 20 hens who all travel around with him all over the central belt and east coast of Scotland. The big horse would pull the caravan with the wee Sheltie at the back, dogs on board and chickens in cages underneath the main wagon. On settling down for the evening the hens were all released and, as free rangers and homers, were very happy and always came back. He always had fresh gorgeous eggs and a happy smile. Cats? I think if they are happy, loved and appreciated and brought up in the pattern it would be no prob. Animals always know when they are wanted.
Oh, by the way, do not encourage cats to do the biz in the RV ever or indoors at all. A cat flap is as good in this circumstance as anywhere. No cat likes a tray really unless nothing else is available. He or she will thank you for it. Freedom!

Well, yes but the pet would probably not like it or have a very enjoyable life. Maybe a small dog would cope better, but cats like to roam and that would not be a good environment for it, possibly even leading to illness such as respiratory problems. I've heard that could occur in pets with very sedentary living conditions that do not allow much movement.
