How is double-sided tape produced so it doesn't stick to everything while they're making it?

    The glue is added in a runny not sticky state. It then dries sticky.
    It is dried in an oven and the sticky side stuck to the liner: The part you discard when you use the tape. The liner is coated with a silicone release compound to prevent the glue sticking to it permanently.
