Possible? Sure, a lot of things are possible. Alternate universes are possible. It's possible we're living in the Matrix. But plausible? Honestly, what evidence of there is that? Sure, you can watch conspiracy videos that purport to have mounds of evidence. But in the big picture, when has the US ever mounted a large scale event killing thousands in a major city in order to piss off their own country? The closest possible event is Pearl Harbor... and we were bombed by the Japanese there, not our own people. In short, it's a bit ridiculous.

It's possible to bounce ball against a wall and have it go all the way through. I'd say it's probably about as likely as the US destroying the twin towers to get support to go to war.

Over the past 8 years, I have come to realize that there is no length that our government would not go to in order to manipulate it's people and the world governments. BUT: to say that the U.S. did it, I disagree. I am part of that 'U.S.' and I would certainly have no part in destroying human life that did not threaten my life or current way of living it. I am extremely American (and damn proud of it!), but with that comes the knowledge that there are groups/religions out there that want to destroy everything that we have and stand for. I will not have it and I will fight it to the death. I love my country. That means that I want to preserve it at all costs. One more thing: If you think that this war has ANYTHING to do with the attack on the WTC, you are sorely mistaken. It was used as a convenient excuse. To me, that is just as disgusting as if we HAD done it ourselves.

It's more plausible that people who ask a question like this or answer it in the affirmative are verging on paranoia. And -- I am a liberal totally against the war, totally for getting out of Iraq. But did Bush & Co. arrange for the attack? NO!
