  • mine does the same thing. I think its because their eyes are so seperated that they can't concentrate on one object with out closing the other eye. There's nothing wrong with him.
  • i dont think that is true, my bearded dragon at first never closed 1 eye, i thought maybe from cigarette smoke, however, this problem first started when i gave him reptiglo uvb 10 light. ever since then he has been closing one eye all the time, i hope to god he is ok. i love him
  • My bearded dragon only has one eye
  • Hey guys - I think it's the lighting..it's probably bothering her eyes. Switch to a reptiSUN light. reptiGLO seem to have a bad reputation but are readily available in stores because retailers make a nice profit on them. Go with Reptisun or if you can Arcadia D3 thats top of the line. Change the lighting you could be burning her little retinas.
  • i tried breading my bearded dragon ever since one eye has gotten swollen everytime she blinks a liquid comes out shes eating fine and shes well hydrated could anyone help me if so my email is bellatina777@aol.com
  • bearded dragons can close one eye and focus on an object with the other, this is normal behavior. if your bearded dragon seems like it can not have both eyes open at the same time at all then you may need to seek advice from a vet, if they cant keep both eyes open at the same time no matter what then you may have a neurological problem. this is not usually something that you run into but infections left untreated can lead to damage to the brain at times, leaving the reptile disoriented. i have actually owned a guinea pig and hairless rat at times that both suffered from infections that left them permanently damaged, like constant head tilt and walking in circles. and as far as i know the lighting is not going to be the culprit.
