A egg with a chick in it has, after about two weeks, a growing deposit of uric acid which your body will have a dickens of a time getting rid of because it's almost insoluble in water. In fact, if you (ooh, gross) made a practice of eating unhatched chicks, you'd probably develop gout (oh, the pain!) so fast it would make your head spin.
