  • Yes ,he has big fingers.
  • I think everybody does. You don't want to be told something is wrong. And anxiety usually does lead to high blood pressure.
  • Yes most certainly does~my doc tells me to drink a couple glasses of wine before coming in! Of course mine isn't quite the same as yours...I don't envy you. Hope all is well hun!
  • It does. In some people, it raises it significantly. It's a phenomenon known as white coat hypertension.
  • Well...not usually if I'm seeing my regular PCP(female). But...I recently had to have a physical done by a male physician(I'm female). Now for that particular exam, yeah, I was more than a bit nervous and my BP was high for the first time in my life and I'm only 20.
  • Not at all. I'm a woman and I have a male for both my regular doctor and my gynecologist and I have no problem being examined by either of them. The nudity does not bother me at all.
  • well that is a normal phemenon u r facing and that rising of blood pressure is termed white coat hypertension medically.
  • hi, yes i do,this is called white coat syndrome. people are generally nervous when seeing a doctor.this almost always raises the blood pressure.
  • A lot of patients will admit to me when they come into my office that they're nervous about the visit, and usually their blood pressure will be high. One way to deal with this is to give them a monitor to use at home and tell them to call me in a week with the readings. Sometimes they go back down to normal, but sometimes they're elevated even at home. I usually don't wear a white coat because the office is really hot. I joke to my patients that this should prevent "white coat hypertension." :-)
