I live in the Bay Area, in CA so I can get to A beach about 15 or so miles away...but you wouldn't want to go swimming there, definitely not. The water is cold and grey and perhaps some mutated fish live inside. The closest nice beach is about an hour away driving.
Close if you consider Minnesota beaches (we are the land of 10,000 lakes, after all!) but I'm a LONG way from the ocean.
It's a seven minute bike ride.
Way too far. I LOVE the beach and wish it were right outside my bedroom window!
The nearest one is about 20 minutes to seaside heights, NJ.
