If we ban laser pointers,I think we need to ban hammers, nailguns, cars, limbs, electricity, anything remotely resembling string or rope, plastic bags, most chemicals...
Look, folks. ANYTHING can be used inappropriately. Some of these things can be a serious danger to life and limb. But if we banned everything that fell into this category, we would have nothing left. Not even arms and legs.
Oh, and before there were laser pointers, I used to whack people with the pointer that the teacher used on the chalkboard at school.
Well, I hear that people are bringing them to sporting events and using them to distract the players on the competing team. Not good. They should probably be banned from a lot of places where people use them to disturb others, just like cell phones.

No! All the cats of the world would rise up in protest.

People have been at airports and shining them directly into the cockpits of planes and pilots eyes. Yes, I believe they need to be banned.
When I was driving at night once, someone from another car shone one in my window and I felt very scared as I did not know who was doing it or why. I lost concentration.

How is Air Force One started? I know big planes don't have keys, but this is Air Force One. Shouldn't there be a key/code, something?

You're reading Should laser pointers be banned?

I was thinking about this in terms of airport security too - they banned box cutters, then knives and scissors, then lighters, liquids and shoelaces. Just shows anything can be used as a weapon.
