  • A groundhog, last Summer; took it miles and miles away and released it in the wild.
  • Yes, I've trapped raccoons, bobcats, opossums, mice and rats. All because they either were getting my chickens or other animals or they were in my house and shouldn't be. I've also caught gophers because they were eating everything in sight including a 7 year old cheery tree:-( I've tried to catch a beaver so we could move them to a better area as they were going to get shot where they were but they left on their own, luckily.
  • I've trapped before for two reasons: To help farmers in my community get rid of the predators that stalk their livestock waiting for a free meal and I've also trapped for profit to put food on my families table in the wintertime. Summertime trapping is only profitable when you get paid by the farmers. Wintertime the fur is sellable so I never charged them then. Now anyone can give me all the guff they want, but in rural areas you do what you must to survive. I don't have a problem with it and neither does my family. That's all that matters to me.
