  • I'm in Kansas City Missouri and in the summer of 2008 my car (1988 Olds Delta88) would die for no apparrent reason but would restart sometimes within 15 minutes. I would spray some starter fluid into the intake which didn't help so I figured it was electrical in nature. I first replaced the coil but the problem came back so I replaced the ignition modual and this fixed it. My local parts store has 2 or 3 qualities of parts and they claim they're all the same except the the warranty but I lean towards the mid to upper end just in case. I think I can recall the modual being around $100 and I don't recall how much the coil was but it was under $50. I had to remove the battery and use a mirror to see what I was doing. I also found that I needed a good quality set of english and metric tools. good luck, CH
