1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 shuts off after run 30-40 minutes.Will restart again in few hours.Fuel Pump is OK receiving fuel.Noticed fan was not running.Replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor,Thermostat,Hoses,Belts,Starter,Alternator and Battery.What else to check?

I'm in Kansas City Missouri and in the summer of 2008 my car (1988 Olds Delta88) would die for no apparrent reason but would restart sometimes within 15 minutes. I would spray some starter fluid into the intake which didn't help so I figured it was electrical in nature. I first replaced the coil but the problem came back so I replaced the ignition modual and this fixed it. My local parts store has 2 or 3 qualities of parts and they claim they're all the same except the the warranty but I lean towards the mid to upper end just in case. I think I can recall the modual being around $100 and I don't recall how much the coil was but it was under $50. I had to remove the battery and use a mirror to see what I was doing. I also found that I needed a good quality set of english and metric tools. good luck, CH
